Thanks for stopping by.  I want to take this opportunity to invite you to an important event in Thomaston.  It is the birthing of a new church called, Barnesville Street Community Church.

The mission in Thomaston is complex.  We sense a clear need for the church to be culturally inclusive, grace filled, family-friendly, missional, community-oriented, relational and relevant.  Each passing day, the population of unchurched believers and unchurched unbelievers in the region grows.  We cannot underscore the urgency and importance of presenting the gospel in a relevant, creative and timely fashion.

We are excited at the prospect of a ministry team of committed people who have been gathering every Saturday.  We have begun to pray together, study the Scriptures, observe the community and plan carefully.  Our vision is for a church that does ministry creatively, is family-friendly, accepting of all people, and spiritually dynamic: a church that we all enjoy being a part of and whose mission we can fully invest ourselves in. We look to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the wisdom of the group as we form this church.

We meet every Saturdays at 6:00 pm. at 215 Barnesville Street in Thomaston.  We generally like to bring a dish to pass and eat a meal before we meet to worship and pray.  You are invited to join us.  Our phone number is 706 656 0193.

Some of the Scriptures that have has given us direction for the all that lies ahead include:

Excerpts from the Bible concerning humble beginnings of the early church:  42They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.  43Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.  44All the believers were together and had everything in common.  45Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 4 6Every day they continued to meet together… They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2

Excerpts from the Bible concerning the life of a devoted follower of Jesus Christ (disciple):  16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last….5I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 8This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples John 15

Prayerfully,

The Haralus
